Between Silences

“We are aware that the conductor is not really making the music, it is making him” - Peter Brook

I am skeptical of artistic institutions and national artistic movements to call on us to create good theatre.  Institutions are dedicated to self-preservation: Theatre is temporary.  National movements tend toward the universal: Good theatre is specific.
